By now you know that one of my favorite phrases is "It All Adds Up" and it's something I say regularly. It’s the perfect motto for this era, where technology has evolved and made it easier than ever to make extra cash from the comfort of your home. So, how do you capture those pennies? Simple. Today I will share with you some of my favorite receipt scanning apps, starting with the one that leads the pack: Fetch.
1. Fetch: The Brand-Focused Leader
The most popular receipt app is Fetch, and for good reason. It's user-friendly and very straightforward. Users earn points for purchasing items from hundreds of participating brands and by simply snapping pictures of receipts.
How to Earn: Download the free app (Android or iOS). Take pictures of any paper receipt or connect your email, Amazon, and Walmart accounts to automatically scan e-receipts.
The Basics: Receipts must be uploaded within 2 weeks of purchase. The minimum award is 25 points per receipt.
Referral Bonus: If you are not enrolled in Fetch, you can use my referral code 467JK for bonus points when you download the app!
2. CoinOut: The Flexible Cash-Back Option
Another fantastic option is CoinOut. It’s a rewards program that lets you rack up "Coins" in multiple ways: by simply snapping pictures of your paper receipts or by linking your email for automatic credit on online purchases. The best part? You can trade those Coins in for real value!
Rewards: Redeem your coins for Amazon gift codes, PayPal, or Venmo cash. Rewards start at 3,000 coins for a $3 Amazon gift card. For larger redemptions, like the $10 cash-out (9,500 coins), you get a bonus deal, meaning less coins to redeem!
Bonus Earning: You can level up your earning potential by playing games and completing extra tasks in the app!
Referral Bonus: Download CoinOut using my [link] or referral code Q22VJX7 for 500 free coins!
💡 My Savings Tip: I currently have 44,410 coins and am saving them to cash out for $50 at 47,000 coins. Almost there!
3. ReceiptPal: The "All Receipts Welcome" Approach
The next app is ReceiptPal, which is perfect for maximizing the value of every single piece of paper you get—because remember, It All Adds Up! Unlike other apps that focus on specific brands, ReceiptPal gives you points for almost any receipt from any U.S. retailer—from groceries and gas to dining and department stores.
How to Earn: You earn 25 points per receipt (paper or e-receipt). Every four receipts you submit earns you a Point Card worth 100 points.
Prizes: Every valid receipt you submit also scores you an automatic entry into their weekly cash sweepstakes!
Rewards: Cash out your points for popular e-gift cards like Amazon, Visa, Walmart, and more.
Level 1: $5 gift card for 2,200 points.
Level 2: $10 gift card for 4,000 points.
Level 3: $50 gift card for 17,250 points. Like most apps, the more points you earn, the better deal you get when cashing in!
Note: ReceiptPal does not have a referral program, but you can download the app on your phone or tablet to start earning today.
4. Receipt Hog: Turning Your Receipts into a Game
Two Ways to Earn: For purchases of everyday items like groceries or drugs, you earn "Coins" based on the total spend. For other purchases, like clothes or electronics, you get a free "Spin" on the Hog Slots for a chance to win bigger prizes, extra Coins, or even cash! Spins are given per receipt scanned.
Prizes: Every single receipt gives you an entry into their monthly cash sweepstakes!
Rewards: All of those little Coins and spins All Add Up to real rewards, redeemable for PayPal cash, Visa, or Amazon gift cards.
Referral Bonus: Download the app and enter the referral code sap36421 for 5 bonus spins!
Conclusion: Time to Let It All Add Up!
I love these apps and save my points and coins all year long, cashing out right before Christmas. I scan my receipts weekly and go from app to app (I use initials on them so I know which app I have scanned them into!). This method works best for me!
Now it's your turn! Please share in the comments below: What other receipt apps do you use? Feel free to drop your referral links/codes as well—I'm always looking for new ones!
