So, remember when I swore to myself I was going to write daily? Yeah… 2026 had other plans. But instead of ghosting you forever, I’m back, powered purely by willpower and actual mental clarity, to give you the grand recap of what’s been happening—and a sneak peek at what’s next.
The Hormonal Plot Twist (a.k.a. Perimenopause)
I am thrilled to report that I am finally starting to feel like a functional human again. Back in April, I started Hormone Replacement Therapy while simultaneously tackling triple anemia (because why solve one medical mystery when you can solve three?).
The verdict? The brain fog has officially lifted, my weekly testosterone injections no longer make me nauseous, and my mood swings have been downgraded from "category 5 hurricane" to "occasional draft." Do I still get overstimulated? Absolutely. Is the luteal phase still a minor villain in my life? Yes. But it is *so* much better. I have a follow-up and labs scheduled for October to see where my levels are at, but for now, I’m calling it a win.
The “Glow Up” In Progress
Of course, as soon as my brain cleared up, my body decided to try new pastimes: changing up my skin, hair, and weight. Fun! While I did manage to find every single pound I lost in 2024, I’m excited to share that I’m down 6.4 lbs this past month.
I’m currently deep in research mode for a full-on "Glow Up"—a realistic makeover centered around clean eating, moving my body, and dialed-in skincare and hair routines. More to come on this journey in future posts, so stay tuned.
Homesteading, Feathers, and Future Goats
On the homestead front, things are humming along. The chickens and ducks are living their best, happiest lives, and I’ve been cooking up some incredible food lately.
Right now, I’m playing the long game with my garden. I’m buying materials piece by piece after finding the ultimate inspiration photo in one of my gardening groups, and I can’t wait to show you the final reveal. I’m just waiting for the Florida heat to give us a break so I can reset the coops, weed, and overhaul my main garden bed. (And yes, I still want bees and goats, but I’m practicing self-control… for now.)
The Family Unit
The crew is doing great. My husband’s work has been on the slower side this year, but thankfully my job remains steady and solid.
Riley officially graduated high school and is currently crushing it in welding school. He finishes at the end of the year and is amped to follow in his dad’s footsteps and launch his career.
Brianna is now a high school junior! She’s been dating a super sweet guy since February, is currently obsessing over homecoming prep for October, and remains heavily involved in her church and youth group.
Lily started fourth grade and kicked off her second season of competitive speed skating. At her first race last weekend, she pulled off an incredible, last-second pass at the finish line to secure a spot in the finals. Pure magic on wheels!
Romanticizing the Chaos
Lately, I’ve been making a conscious effort to romanticize my life—especially the annoying parts.
On nights when the absolute last thing I want to do is cook, I remind myself how lucky I am to have a stocked fridge and a kitchen to work in.
When running the kids around feels like a second full-time job, I remind myself how insanely fast time flies.
When work gets demanding, I remind myself that I genuinely love my job, have fantastic benefits, and work for a great company (on *most* days, anyway!).
I am so looking forward to being back in this space, writing more, and tackling the rest of my 2026 goals with you all. I hope you are all doing wonderfully and staying blessed!
